A record breaking performance by Irish women’s 4×200 relay team in World Relays Finals

Irish women’s 4×200 metre relay team finished second and sets a national record in the final at World Relays in Silesia, Poland. The team constitutes Aoife Lynch, Kate Doherty, Sarah Quinn and Sophie Becker finished in 1:35:93 to set the best ever time on relays by Irish teams. Poland finished first in the final followed by Ireland and Ecuador.

The run started by Lynch from lane 4, and passed on the baton to Doherty, then Quinn and the final lap was run blisteringly by Becker who finished just a second short from the champions.
