Bibi’s happy place’s stretch along Alleppey to Ireland.

Hailing from Ireland; a land with interesting history, unique traditions and culture, Ms. Bibi Baskin’s first visit to Kerala and the wonderful experience that she had in God’s Own Country, eventually transformed her from a visitor to a host.

A well-know television personality in Ireland and in the United Kingdom, Ms. Bibi Baskin after her visit to Kerala felt that it is now time for her to explore a different vocation besides her journalistic pursuits. Her search culminated with Raheem Bungalow, a beach side building, which she bought in 2003, and converted it into a boutique heritage hotel, which is now a well-known beach side destination in Alappuzha. The property have 10 bedrooms, offering yoga and Ayurvedic treatments

Ms. Bibi says that the lovely warmth she felt in Kerala during her first visit has sustained her to be part of a wonderful land, where people are generous, approachable and caring. Being in Kerala, which now has a credible presence in the field of tourism and hospitality services, Ms. Bibi is very keen to promote her boutique heritage hotel ‘Raheem Residency’ into a destination that is not just a place for the best of comforts and services, but a place for visitors to relish the very best of Kerala’s traditional and cultural traits.

Baskin is fluent in Irish and worked as a teacher of the language at the beginning of her career. She served as one of the judges on the 2008 RTÉ television programme, Fáilte Towers.In 2015, she joined Cork’s 96FM to host the morning radio talk show Opinion Line

After spending 15 years in Kerala,India, she returned to Cork and runs her own business which focuses on wellness, public speaking and events.

She said: “It was in Ireland that I first discovered this wonderful system of wellness called Ayurveda and then years rolled by and I thought to go on a holiday after I’d given up broadcasting and I decided to go to that part of India where Ayurveda had started”

“There is no doubt” that people in Ireland should take a more holistic approach to medicine and treatment, she stated.

She said: “The sad thing is when you come back to the western world, be it Ireland or the UK or Australia or America, you find that the mind and the body are two distinct things, that they’re not suggesting for a minute that the one can affect the other, and it can.”

Her first book was “ Bibi’s Wellness Wisdom Vol. 1” .It is a collecting quotes,they have been a source of inspiration on a dull day, a ray of hope when the chips are down, a guide to re framing negative mind-sets and a tool to reinforce the optimism and joy that is all around us. In other words, for Bibi they have been a continuous steer in the direction of happiness

Bibi Baskins second book ,“Happy Book Vol-2”  ,  is collection of wellness  quotes of simple ideas that that she  have accumulated from her  studies  and learning over many years. She says “Some of them will work for you, Others may not. Either way you will have your favorites – as I do!”

She said she was in her 60s and was looking for a quieter way of life which led to her decision to return to Ireland.
