Cork library open to browse, borrow and return books.

Cork County Council Library & Arts Service informed that libraries are now open for borrowing.The Reference Library and Local Studies are operating a phone and email service only. Libraries are unable to offer newspapers, public computers, printing or study spaces at this time, but Self-service photocopying  will be available.

A few things to keep in mind during your visit are:

  • Due to library capacity and time restrictions, you may need to queue at the door.
  • Please wear a face covering.
  • Follow the guidelines by staff & signage during your visit.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the library.
  • Remember the social distancing rule of 2 metres at all times.
  • For the moment, there is no access to newspapers, magazines, study tables or Public PCs.

It will be possible to reserve books using the national online book request system from Monday, May 17th but you can still access your account online.Libraries request that you do not borrow from the library if you or someone in your household has symptoms of Covid-19. If you have library items at home, and then you or a household member develop symptoms, please do not return your items until you have completed a 14 day isolation period and are fever free for the last 5 days.
