The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has been notified of 1,171 PCR-confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland today.
In addition, on Thursday 21 April, 1,607 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal.
It brings the combined total of Covid-19 cases reported today to 2,778.
As of 8 am today, 599 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of whom 39 are in ICU.
