A stolen car collided with two official garda vehicles in Wexford on Sunday. Two gardai were injured in the incident and they were taken to the hospital.
The theft of the car happened in the Piercetown area at approximately 5:15pm.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai in Wexford are investigating the theft of a car that occurred in the Piercetown area at approximately 5:15pm on Sunday, 23rd January, 2022.
“This vehicle was subsequently reported to have been involved in multiple road traffic collisions in the Wexford area on the evening of Sunday, January 23, 2022, including collisions with two official Garda vehicles in the Kilmore Quay area. The offending vehicle failed to remain at the scene of these incidents.”
“No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing.” spokesperson said
The two officers who were taken to the hospital have been discharged later
