Iceland stores urgently recalls popular milk products over pesticide fears

Iceland, a brand of popular milk drinks in Ireland has has issued an urgent recall for two of its milk brands.

FSAI has issued a warning against the consumption of certain batches of Moo Milk flavoured milk due to the presence of pesticide ethylene oxide.

The implicated batches are the following:

  • Moo Milk Banana Flavoured Pack Size: 1L and Use By: 13/10/2021
  • Moo Milk Chocolate Flavoured Pack Size: 1L and Use By: 12/10/2021

If there is a continued consumption of food contaminated with ethylene oxide, there is an increased risk in cancer.

This particular pesticide is not permitted for use in foods sold in the EU but is approved for use by other countries outside the EU.

A notice on the FSAI website reads: “Certain batches of Moo Milk flavoured milk are being recalled due to the presence of the unauthorised pesticide ethylene oxide.
