Indian man who covered ‘earth’s circumference on foot’ publishes book on Irish pension system

Indian man who made news after walking the equivalent distance of the circumference of Earth (40,075 km) once again makes headlines. This time the 71-year-old Vinod Bajaj becomes favorite face of the media by publishing a complete guide to the pension system of Ireland, titled ‘Pension Without Tension.’

Mr. Bajaj is a retired business consultant who lives in Ireland for the last 44 years. His epic walking episodes took place near his home in Limerick through the recent years.

As a pensioner, own experiences and knowledge helped Mr. Bajaj to create a complete guide about the Irish pension system, which is believed to be the first of it’s kind. The book brings another great contribution by Mr. Bajaj to the country- a percentage of the profit of this self-publsihed book will be handed over to the suicide prevention charity Pieta House. He has also placed Pieta’s logo on the cover.

After completing his first mission to cover the distance of earth’s circumference by walking, he now has completed almost 55,000 km by foot. He started walking back in 2016 with an aim at first to reduce body weight. But later he realized walking gives him a particular energy and since it has become a habit.

The book is believed to be a great help for many people in the country who are confused about their pensions and future.

“These days people have got myths and misconceptions about pensions, they think it’s very complicated, and what I have done in the book is made it in the language of the common man.” Mr. Bajaj said about his book.

“No better man to write about pensions than a pensioner,” says Bajaj.
