Irish team to fly back home after losing crucial match against Namibia in T20 World Cup; Namibia enters Super 12s

Namibian army crushed the dreams of Irish team today in a tension giving match in T20 World Cup 2021. In the important group stage match, after beating Ireland, Namibia marched to Super 12s with four points from two wins. Disappointingly, Ireland found their way back home.

Score: Ireland 125/8 (20 Overs)
Namibia 126/2 (18.3 Overs)

For both the teams, today’s match was very crucial to enter in to the next round after facing defeats against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka had already qualified for Super 12s.

Ireland’s first innings saw Paul Stirling 38 (24), Kevin O’Brien 25 (24) and Andrew Balbirnie 21 (28) scoring relatively better compared to last match against Sri Lanka. But a total of 125 from 20 overs was not at all challenging for Namibia.

In the chase, Namibian batters Gerhard Erasmus 53* (49) and David Wiese 28* (14) easily sailed the ship towards victory. Zane Green 24 (32) also contributed well and the team lost only two wickets.

In Super the 12s Sri Lanka will play against Bangladesh and Namibia’s opponents are Scotland.
