Man attacked in Dublin just after Ireland international rugby match; Hospitalised with serious injuries

A 51-year-old man has been seriously injured after an assault took place on Haddington Road, Dublin on Sunday. The victim was attacked by a group of men who approached him shortly before 5pm while walking on the road. The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries on face and head. His injuries are said to be serious but non-life threatening.

The incident happened near the area where an international rugby match between Ireland and Argentina was taking place and many people were down on the road. Gardai are appealing any witness to come forward to give details of the incident.

They are particularly appealing to anyone with camera footage and motorists with dashcam from the Haddington Road area between 4.30pm and 5.30pm to make it available to them.
