Man dies following assault in Dublin; Two hospitalised

A man has died following an assault at a house in on Monday. The incident took place at Ashfield Park in Blanchardstown around 4 in the evening. Two others have also been taken to hospital from the crime scene with injuries.

According to a report by The Irish Times, a man, aged in his 40s, was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, where he has since been pronounced dead. A man and woman, both in their 20s are being treated in the hospital for serious injuries.

Post-mortem of the deceased is to take place today and the crime scene is preserved for technical examinations. Garda are not suspecting any other person involved in the incident at this point.

Garda have appealed to anyone, including road users with camera footage, who may have been in the area between noon and 4pm on Monday to contact Blanchardstown Garda station on 01 666 7000, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
