Nurses truly are frontline heroes- lets celebrate International Nurses Day

Today, as we celebrate International Nurses Day, we would like to thank all our nurse and student nurse colleagues for their tremendous work and commitment to ensure patients receive quality care in all our services.

UN reports show investment in nursing can have the triple impact of better health, greater gender equality and stronger economies .  Nurses have proven to be a critical force battling COVID-19, dedicating their time to protect, support, and care for people affected by the virus in the community.  We must all acknowledge the great sacrifice they do for the health of all. Thank you nurses for saving lives and keeping our loved ones safe!

On this special occasion we have fantastic news coming from Ireland that during last seven day period over 250,000 doses have been administered for the first time.Thank you to our frontline workers including Nurses and midwives and other staffs for making this happen.

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) today announced the theme for International Nurses Day 2021 . Following on from previous years, the overarching theme for IND is Nurses: A Voice to Lead. The sub-theme for 2021 is A Vision for Future Healthcare.

“This global COVID-19 pandemic has shown the world the important role that nurses play in keeping people healthy across the lifespan,” said Annette Kennedy, ICN President. “While there has been significant disruption to healthcare, there has also been significant innovation that has improved access to care. In 2021, we will focus on the changes to and innovations in nursing and how this will ultimately shape the future of healthcare.”
