Two pedestrians seriously injured after separate collisions in Dublin

TWO pedestrians have been hospitalized for serious injuries after two separate road accidents in Dublin.

In the first crash in Tallaght, shortly after 11pm, a pedestrian was struck by a car on the Blessington Road.

Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene and the 31-year-old man was taken to nearby Tallaght Hospital.

His injuries have been described as non-life threatening while the driver of the car went uninjured.

Gardaí at Tallaght are appealing for anyone with any information is asked to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01- 666 6000.

In a second separate collision at around 1.30am this morning, a man, 40s, was struck by a car on the Drimnagh Road.

He was rushed to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries and remains in a serious condition. The driver of the car was not injured.

The road is currently closed to allow for a technical examination to be carried out by Garda Forensic Investigators and local diversions are in place.
