US and UK try to bring back citizens from Afghanistan amid Taliban set to march to Kabul

After capturing Kandahar, the second largest city in Afghanistan, the Taliban terrorists are feared to be advancing to the State capital Kabul. The group started their attacks in the country following US and Nato allies’ withdrawal of troops after almost 20 years of occupation.

Soon after the Taliban started to invade cities, the US and the UK had sent military teams to safeguard and return their embassy officials from Afghanistan. Other European countries are also sending force to bring back their citizens from the situation worsening country.

Meanwhile the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has said, he was in urgent talks with local leaders and international partners amid fears that the Taliban set to march to Kabul. As per the reports, the Taliban have captured a key town which is a gateway to the capital city. The town named Pul-e-Alam is just 70km away from south of Kabul.

“As your president, my focus is on preventing further instability, violence, and displacement of my people,” Mr Ghani said while addressing the nation through television.

The terrorist group is trying to remove Mr Ghani and to take power over the country as they had before. So far, they have captured 14 of Afghanistan’s 34 provincial capitals.
