Following a motorbike collision in Co. Cavan yesterday night, a man in his 20s has died.
At approximately 8 o’clock in the evening, there was a single-vehicle collision on the R165 near Cornakill, Kingscourt.
On-site medical personnel declared the individual dead. A post-mortem examination will be performed at Cavan General Hospital where his body has been transported.
No one else was injured in the crash.
The road remains closed in both directions and a forensic examination will be carried out. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, particularly anyone that might have camera footage, to come forward and contact them at Bailieboro Garda Station on 042-9694570.
