12th Indian Film Festival of Ireland (IFFI) to take place virtually from 22nd to 25th October; Opening film Toofan

The 12th Indian Film Festival of Ireland (IFFI) will be virtually held from 22nd to 25th of October 2021. The festival stream can be accessed over the Zoom platform via ID number 805 206 6532. Siraj Zaidi is the Festival Director for this year.

From various languages within the country, Indian Film Industry collectively is the number one in the world in producing most number of films per year. India produces 1,500 films on average every year. The country also has a long history of cinema starting from 1913 and some of the finest movies ever made in the world are from India.

The opening film of this year’s festival is Toofan, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Screenings of some of the greatest films of last century such as Babasaheb Amedkar, Shakti, Godmother along with recently released films will take place during the four-day festival. In addition to the film screenings, it will include interviews with celebrities and classical Indian dance. Recently deceased legend Dilip Kumar starrer Mughl-e Azam will be the closing film.
