1,914 new Covid patients in Ireland as DCMO advises work from home

The HSE have confirmed 1,914 new cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

As of 8am today, 413 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised and 73 among them are in ICU.

Meanwhile the Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ronan Glynn has asked people to work from home if possible during this winter and autumn. He appealed people not to go out and socilaise with others if having Covid symptoms and to continue to take preventive measures that we have practiced for the last two years.

He has shared a four-minute video on twitter reminding of all that to be done to tackle virus spreading.

Earlier there were indications from the public health officials that the restrictions might be tightened ahead of winter when diseases like flu also prevail among the Irish community. Though the government has not given any official advice on work from home yet. But Taoiseach Micheal Martin last day had stated that he cannot guarantee full reopening of the society as planned on October 22.
