Winners crowned in three divisions at memorial sporting event

The Association of Indian Communists (AIC) Dublin Branch successfully organized a one-day badminton tournament in memory of Comrade Jane Paulose Puramatham, who played a significant role in strengthening the leftist movement in Ireland.
The tournament, held on Saturday, November 29 at St Patrick’s GAA in Stamullen, County Meath, saw several teams compete across multiple divisions in an event filled with excitement and competitive spirit.
The winners and runners-up across the three divisions were:
Division 3-4: Winners – Nobin and Dibin; Runners-up – Bastian and Sumith
Division 5-6: Winners – Thomsin and Joseph; Runners-up – Nandakishore and Antony
Division 7-8: Winners – Jagadish and Vaideek; Runners-up – Binu Saugatha and Shiju Geevarghese
Trophies and cash prizes for the winners were presented by AIC UK-Ireland Secretary Janesh C.N. and AIC Dublin Secretary Ratheesh Suresh.
In his closing remarks, AIC Dublin Secretary Ratheesh Suresh thanked all players and spectators who contributed to making the one-day tournament a resounding success. The event served both as a sporting competition and a tribute to Comrade Jane Paulose Puramatham’s legacy in Ireland’s progressive political movement.
The AIC is the international arm of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and organizes cultural and sporting events to bring together members of the Indian community in Ireland while honoring figures who have contributed to leftist political organizing.
