Certain Primark Children’s Plates Recalled due to Lead Exposure

Sold in Primark and Penneys stores across the UK and Ireland, a further children’s plates recall has been announced due to the possible migration of lead and formaldehyde into food.

This follows the widespread Winnie the Pooh plate recall in August for the same safety concerns.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland announced the further plate recall today, encouraging customers to check their purchases and know how to proceed.

FSAI said in a statement, “Further to FSAI Food Alert 2022.49 Primark is recalling additional children’s plates. The affected plates may give rise to the possible migration into the food of chemicals (lead and formaldehyde). Health effects are not expected from using these plates.”

“ Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in Penney’s stores supplied with the implicated plates.”
