The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) recruiting for a Data Analyst for Food Reformulation Taskforce in their Dublin Office.

The purpose of this Task Force is to implement the Food Reformulation Action Plan developed by the Department of Health’s Obesity Plan Implementation and Oversight Group.

The closing date is on Monday, 30 May, 2022.

JOB PURPOSE

A Data Analyst is required to work with the newly established Food Reformulation Taskforce at the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and Healthy Ireland at the Department of Health.  The objective of the taskforce is to oversee and monitor the reduction in selected nutrients and energy (saturated fat, salt, sugar) in key food categories. Changes to product formulations of commonly consumed processed food by the food industry will lead to healthier food environments. A Data Analyst is required to quantify progress by comparing historical baseline data to newly collected data using a statistically sound and valid approach.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • NFQ Level 8 degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, computer science or similar with a significant statistical component.
  • Significant experience in a statistical programming environment such as R.
  • Knowledge of sampling.
  • Strong data skills, i.e., data manipulation, merging, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Ability to clearly communicate the outputs of analysed data – both written and oral.
  • Ability to design and produce regular (automated) reports and dashboards.
  • Experience working as part of a team and communicating with industrial partners.
