Driver arrested after hitting pedestrian and damaging vehicles in Fermoy

A driver in his 20s was arrested in Fermoy, County Cork after he hit a person and caused damage to several cars.

At around 3:30 pm yesterday, the event happened on McCurtain Street in the town.

Video footage of the incident has been shared on social media.

The video shows the man’s crazy driving, which includes running into numerous parked cars, reversing down the street, and colliding with another car.A garda spokesperson said the pedestrian received non-life threatening injuries.

“A male (early 20s) was arrested at the scene and taken to Fermoy Garda station, where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He remains in Garda custody at this time and investigations are ongoing,” the spokesperson said.
