Dublin store closes its doors after 106 years in business

A well-known store in Dublin announced its closing after more than a century in business.

After a remarkable 106 years in business, the Fairview hardware store Edge & Sons is currently for sale, Dublin Live reported.

Owner Victor Edge explained the closure to Dublin Live by saying, “My years have caught on me, I’m afraid. slowly but surely. I’ll be 77 in August.”

When asked when the north inner-city store will close its doors, Victor said the store had only just gone up for sale. He added: “It could take months.”

Edge & Sons has gained hundreds of loyal customers over the years, making it a well-known Fairview company. “We’ve always had great customers,” Victor continued.

The Edges Hardware Appreciation Society page on Facebook actually started by a local customer and has close to 900 fans at the moment.
