€3 million worth heroine seized from former Sheffield Player; sentenced to jail

Former professional footballer Keith Quinn was caught with €2.7 million of heroin and has been sentenced to jail for 4 years. The Dublin Circuit Criminal Court had identified the role of former Sheffield United player in gambling which he used to clear all the debts on him.

Keith Quinn had received a package of heroin from an industrial estate in west Dublin and had handed over the pack to a nearby address. He had been booked already for minor traffic offences.

His elder brother Alen Quinn had said that the family didn’t know about his brother’s dealings and pleaded for a second chance as he is not a professional drug dealer.

The first verdict by the court was to sentence Quinn for seven and a half years and later Justice Codd suspended final three and a half years on strict conditions including an in-home treatment for addiction to gambling.
