Further 1,491 Covid cases in Ireland; New Covid walk-in centres to be operational from today

After the huge turnout of people to walk-in Covid vaccination centres last weekend, HSE sets up new centres across the country this weekend too. Anyone over the age of 16 can directly approach walk-in centres without prior booking to avail a free Pfizer vaccine dose.

The HSE had confirmed that more then 30,000 people availed vaccine through walk-in centres last weekend. The overwhelming response persuaded HSE and the government to set up new centres.

If you are a person who have already booked a slot for vaccination with HSE website, you can still come to walk-in centres with a photo ID which shows your date of birth to get vaccinated. For people coming without booking the following documents are required:

  • Personal Public Service (PPS) number – if you have one
  • Eircode
  • mobile phone number
  • email address
  • photo ID that has your date of birth – this can be a passport, driving licence, Garda age card, school ID

Meanwhile the public health officials confirmed further 1,491 Covid cases in the country yesterday. 193 patients are being treated in hospitals due to the virus infection. 28 of them are in ICUs.
