A man in his 50s was arrested and seized drugs and cash after stopping a car in Dundalk by Gardaí. The search happend as part of the Operation Tara national strategy targeting illegal drugs.
Gardaí stopped and searched a vehicle on the Carrickmacross Road in the Co Louth town around 11am yesterday. And they found €45,000 in cash in the vehicle. In a follow-up search at a property in the town, €53,000 worth of suspected cocaine and €17,000 of suspected MDMA and other drug paraphernalia was seized by Gardaí.
This man was arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Dundalk Garda station.
