Golden post box for Ireland’s Golden Ellen; An Post honours Paralympic Gold Medalist

An Post shows another hearty gesture to honour the Tokyo Paralympic Gold Medalist Ellen Keane. The 26-year-old Dubliner finished first in SB8 100m breaststroke on Thursday, winning the first gold medal for Ireland in Paralympics this year with a finishing time 1:19.33.

To celebrate this tremendous victory, An Post today painted a post box opposite to the Wooden Bridge in Clontarf with golden colour. This is the area where Ms Keane lives. They also honored Ms Keane by writing ‘Congratulations Ellen’ on the box.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Ms Alison Gilliland took this to Facebook and congratulated An Post for showing such a beautiful gift of honour.

Earlier An Post had painted another post box in Dublin, in honour of Kellie Harrington, who won gold in women’s boxing in Tokyo Olympics last month.
