Hardworking Cork woman passes driving test after 27 years at her 9th attempt

This is nothing other than a dream come true for the Cork woman Catherine Ward. Catherine has finally passed the driving test and entitled for a driving license after 27 years of trying. During almost the three decade wait, she participated in 9 tests and passed at the last attempt.

“Every time I went out on the test it was like I was full of fear, I was very negative. This time I was very positive.” Cathrine told Cork’s REDFM about her achievement.

She also said it was the best feeling in the world and she couldn’t believe it.

“I was over the moon. I was nearly starting to give up” she said.

If it was fear that always pulled her back, this time she intentionally changed the mindset.

“I went out this time with a positive mind that I would get it. I had it in my mind this year that I wanted to get my licence.” Says Catherine.

“Catherine was an excellent driver but just small habits like coasting and not checking her mirrors coming off a roundabout.” Catherine’s driving instructor Darren Mullane said.

“She is an inspiration for people. There’s 850 people at the moment on a learner permit over 20 years, that’s according to RSA statistics.” he added.

Let’s congratulate this brave lady for not giving up and believing in herself. Yes, life is always worth a try, isn’t it?
