Herbal cannabis worth more than €1m seized in Dublin

A joint Garda-Revenue operation targeting people suspected of being associated with organised crime resulted in the seizure of herbal cannabis worth at more than €1 million on Thursday in Dublin.


The Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Dublin Metropolitan Region North Central Divisional Drug Unit, and Revenue’s Customs Service all worked together to carry out the operation that led to the seizure.


A total of 54 kg of herbal cannabis with a market value of €1,080,000 was seized.


A 40-year-old guy was arrested by garda. He was being held on Thursday night at a Dublin garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
