HIQA finds hospitals in Tallaght and Wexford adopt poor infection control methods

An inspection team of HIQA had found that Tallaght University Hospital and Wexford General Hospital are following poor and unscientific infection prevention control practices in the emergency department even at the time of second wave outbreaks of Covid 19 pandemic.

The team inspected two wards from each hospital from the Covid block and non Covid block and a walkthrough in all emergency departments were carried out. The overall environment was pretty tidy but lack of spacious rooms and maintenance of infrastructure were the main issues.
