Ireland to host 2030 T20 Men’s World Cup along with England and Scotland

Ireland will host the 2030 Men’s T20 World Cup along with England and Scotland, the ICC has confirmed. This is the first time Ireland becomes part of a major ICC league after 1999.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had started lobbying for hosting the 2030 tournament in which Ireland also showed interest. Ireland had also wrote to the ICC about their interest in hosting the games along with ECB.

The ICC has announced the names of countries hosting T20 World Cups from 2024 to 2030 on Tuesday.

Australia had already been confirmed as next year’s host.

United States will be hosting the 2024 tournament alongside West Indies. It is followed by India and Sri Lanka in 2026. The 2028 games will take place in Australia and New Zealand.

ICC has also announced hosts of Men’s One Day Cricket World Cups from 2027 to 2031. India had already been selected as the sole host of 2023 World Cup. The 2027 World Cup will be hosted by Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. In 2031, India and Bangladesh will be the hosts for 50 over world league.

The Men’s Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan in 2025 and India four years later.
