Irish traveller, 45, was killed in Thailand after falling from a moving train.
The man was travelling through western Thailand when the incident took place, according to the Associated Press news agency.
He was reportedly travelling by rail with a tour group this morning from Bangkok, according to the local police.
It is believed that the man, whose place of residence is unknown, arrived in Thailand on a tourist visa on December 26.
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, it is aware that an Irish national died in Thailand and is prepared to offer consular support.
