Man arrested in connection with the murder Councillor Edward Fullerton released without charge

A man has been arrested in relation to the murder of Councillor Edward Fullerton that occurred at his home back in 1991. The arrest took place on Sunday December 12th by gardai from the Donegal Division.

The man (56 years) was arrested shortly after 10 AM but has been released without charge today. A file will now be prepared for the DPP, gardai said in a press release.

Sinn Fein Councillor Edward Fullerton was shot dead at his family home in Buncrana on 25 May, 1991. Loyalist paramilitaries claimed they carried out the murder.
