The technical issues, first reported around 8am according to DownDetector.ie, are affecting Microsoft’s widely-used business communication platforms. The company acknowledged the problems through a service announcement, identifying issues with Exchange Online access and Teams calendar functionality.
“We’re investigating an issue impacting users attempting to access Exchange Online or functionality within Microsoft Teams calendar,” Microsoft stated, directing system administrators to check reference MO941162 in their admin centers for further details.
The outage is particularly disruptive given Microsoft’s software is relied upon by millions of users worldwide for business and personal communications. Users are experiencing difficulties accessing email through Outlook and using calendar features in Teams, two critical tools for workplace productivity.
