A mother was arrested by Houston police after she allegedly left her 3-year-old daughter in the car alone while she shopped.
Marcy Taylor, 36, was arrested. The incident took place on Sunday at the North Grant Parkway Target Parking Lot.
Someone who saw the three-year-old girl alone in a car parked at the start-up reported the incident to the police. When police arrived and checked, they found the child alone in the car. Within minutes the mother was back. When questioned by police, they said they spent only five minutes in the shop.
However, further investigation revealed that Taylor had been away from her vehicle for over 30 minutes, leaving the child unattended, Constable Mark Herman said.
However, a detailed investigation by the police found that the child was alone in the car for 30 minutes.
They were arrested and taken to the Harris County Jail for leaving the child alone in a car. They were later released on $ 25,000 bail. Police have warned the public not to leave children alone inside the car, as the intense heat has started in Texas.
