No Afghan national will be deported from Ireland, confirms Minister of State for Immigration

No deportation orders are currently being enforced in Ireland, Minister of State for Law Reform, Youth Justice and Immigration James Browne TD confirmed with reference to the proposed deportation of Afghan nationals from the country. The Minister took the issue to his Twitter handle and made it clear that no one will be returned to Afghanistan given the current situation.

The government had earlier confirmed that, they would be issuing 150 humanitarian visas to Afghan refugees in the wake of the Taliban terrorists’ takeover of power. It is in addition with the already confirmed 45 visas for them.

Meanwhile many human rights organisations in Ireland and abroad have called on the Irish government to take in at least 1,000 refugees from Afghanistan as the situation worsened. People keep coming to Kabul airport to flee from the country fearing the barbarian rule of the Taliban might come back in the country.

Ireland has also condemned the crisis in Afghanistan and appealed UN intervention to ensure safety of the people there, women and children in particular.
