People can now pay donations using cards at parishes; New move from Dublin Archdiocese ahead of Christmas

The Dublin Archdiocese is introducing card payment terminals in some 200 parishes in Dublin, reports Business Post. The move will see people able to donate money through credit or debit cards without contact.

There were reports that many people hesitate to use currencies nowadays as a result of the pandemic and parishes also see a decrease in donations. As Christmas days are ahead, the parishes will be busy and more people will be ready for donations. Therefore using card payment system is seen as in compliance with the Covid restrictions too.

The Archdiocese had already tested the project by installing card payment systems at 60 different places last year. It showed positive results and fuelled the move to introduce system to more parishes.
