Pick up the items, leave without paying! Aldi is testing new check-out free store

Popular supermarket chain Aldi is experimenting a more comfortable shopping experience for the customers by introducing check-out free stores. The retail giant is trialling their pilot store in the UK where the customers can shop and then leave the store without paying at the counter.

The whole process is app centred where the customer scans before entering the store, then pick up the items and leave straight out. Later, they will be sent an email along with the details of the items they picked including the price. The bill amount will be deducted automatically through the selected payment method.

As of now, the trial is done by using the staff from Aldi and soon the public will be welcomed to test the technology. The shopping will be hassle-free and without delay through the new system, it is expected. Also it will be more convenient during these pandemic days.
