After nearly three decades in business, a popular Indian restaurant has decided to close its doors to the public.
Residents of Dun Laoghaire were devastated by the horrific news, which was announced by Shakira Indian Restaurant on George’s Street Lower.
The well-known restaurant said that a another Indian restaurant, unrelated to Shakira, is currently running at the same location, Dublin Live reported.
A spokesperson said on Facebook: “It is with great sadness, we wish to inform our customers that Shakira Indian Restaurant, Dun Laoghaire is no longer in operation. We would like to thank all our customers for their loyalty and support over the last number of years (almost 27 years). Signing off!”
Many individuals expressed their sorrow in the comments section. One person wrote: “Thank you for all the amazing food over the years from takeways, dinners hosted, and a few birthday dinners! We will really and truly miss you not being there. Good luck to all the lovely staff for the future.”
