Dublin City Council provides concessions for retailers to set up public toilets

The retailers are asked to set up toilet facilities in their retail units in this summer by the Dublin City Council. A pilot project has been issued for to find out the effectiveness of this idea and coffee parlours in non residential areas are chosen initially.

Council had already given instructions to establish public toilets at Wolfe Tone Square and Stephen’s Green during the pandemic period and they are now planning to ask temporary retail units too to follow this idea. A concession in contract will be awarded for three years and a renewal option for two years for retail units with toilet facilities.

The council has given strict order on the cleanliness and accessibility that should be provided. The toilets will be free for use. As the society gains back its pace slowly at the onset of summer, more public toilets are demanded by the councilors and public.
