Sinn Fein continue to be the favourite party for Irish public; Fianna Fail loses 3 points

Sinn Fein continue to be the favourite political party of Irish people in a new poll as well. According to the poll conducted for the Sunday Times, Sinn Fein has the support of 37% people which is 16 points ahead than the rivals Fine Gael.

Ruling party Fine Gael holds the support of 21% of the public where the coalition party Fianna Fail has 20% public support.

Another party in government coalition, the Green has 5% support.  Labour and Social Democrats have equal support of 3% each while Solidarity/People Before Profit and Aontu have 1% each.

The opposition party Sinn Fein saw 6 point surge in supporters where the party had 31% public support in last poll. Fine Gael’s support stays unchanged but Fianna Fail lost 3 points.

Sinn Fein has more to be happy as their leader Mary Lou McDonald continue to be on the top position amongst the popular leaders. She has a support of 50% of the public. The support for other leaders are as follows: Taoiseach Micheál Martin 41%, Leo Varadkar 39%.

The survey was conducted with participation from 912 Irish voters between 28 October and November 9.
