Teen seriously injured in Swords assault dies in hospital

A 19-year-old teenager, who was seriously assaulted in Swords on Thursday night has died in hospital.

Marius Mamaliga was left in a critical condition following the incident on Brookdale Avenue and was being treated for his injuries at Beaumont Hospital.

The Dublin District Court heard an accusation of assault resulting in serious injury on Saturday against a 20-year-old Dublin man.

Brandon Gavin, from Brookdale Road in Swords, was remanded in custody with consent to bail, with the requirements that he sign in three times per week at the Swords Garda station, keep in touch with the garda, and not make contact with the victim’s family.

On March 1st, he will make another court appearance.
