The proposal to let off fully vaccinated people from mandatory quarantine has been backed by ministers in the Cabinet

There were many talks in the State on quarantine rules for fully vaccinated people. Many people have tried to skip quarantine and jump out of the quarantine hotels as they feel they don’t have to undergo quarantine according to their medical and vaccination status.

Minister Helen McEntee had supported the proposal to leave fully vaccinated people from mandatory quarantine. The changes in the rules will be bought into action quickly. As of now, anyone who fly into Ireland from the red-listed countries have to undergo mandatory quarantine for two weeks.

The scheme has been under criticism by many as it also affects the booking capacity in quarantine hotels. People who enter the country without booking has faced many difficulties in finding quarantine spots. Minister McEntee had said that an exit strategy is needed for hotel quarantine and thinks that Covid negative tested and fully vaccinated people will bring less risks of spreading the virus.
