The Malankara Orthodox Church community in Tipperary will celebrate the first anniversary of the consecration of St Kuriakose Church with special services and a devotional meeting on November 22nd and 23rd.

The historic church in Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary, was purchased on September 14th, 2024, by founding vicar Fr Matthew K. Matthew along with seven families and seven other members of the faith community. The ancient Catholic church building was acquired for the UK Europe Africa Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church in Ireland.
The church was consecrated on November 22-23, 2024, under the leadership of Metropolitans Rev Youhanon Mar Chrysostomos and Rev Abraham Mar Stefanos. It was named after St Kuriakose Sahada, a revered figure in the Orthodox tradition.
A Spiritual Center in Southwest Ireland
The church has become a refuge and spiritual center for believers of various backgrounds in southwest Ireland. According to parish officials, many worshippers visit the church, where numerous miracles are reported to occur through the intercession of St Kuriakose Sahada. The parish’s main annual feast is celebrated on July 14th and 15th.
Anniversary Celebrations
The anniversary program will begin on November 22nd with evening prayer at 5:30pm, followed by a song service led by the Symphony Choir and an annual convention. Paulose T.K. will deliver the sermon.
On November 23rd, morning prayer will commence at 9:15am, followed by Holy Communion offered by vicar Fr Nainan Kuriakose. Associate vicar Fr Jithu Varghese will deliver the annual message of the sacrament.
