The National Public Health Emergency Team (Nphet) has warned the government on the risk factor that may occur if the restrictions imposed are lifted. A further wave of the pandemic will be increase drastically if the social contacts are to be reinstated like before.
The warning has been issued as the cabinet decides to ease the restrictions. Return of inter County travel, non essential construction etc. will be strictly watched phase by phase. As per the warning by Nphet, the sufficient vaccinating processes should be done to protect the citizens before lifting the restrictions. The projections shows that the social mixing would end in a worst scenario of more than 7,000 Covid positive cases per day.
Taoisech Michael Martin said that the easing of restrictions would be very cautious and gradual. If the plan doesn’t comes the way of the government, they can stop it and can re-impose the restrictions again. Stephen Donelly said that each day in May will be very nervous because of the dangerous situation. The measures will be adopted carefully and with low risk if the situation goes beyond the plan.
