Witness appeal after man dies in Leitrim crash

An appeal has been made for witnesses following yesterday’s fatal motorbike accident in Co. Leitrim.

Shortly about 8:40 am, Garda were notified of the collision on the R208 Drumcong to Ballinamore Road near Aghacashlaun.

A short while later, the motorcyclist, a man in his late 50s, was declared dead at the site.

The location was given a technical inspection by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

The road was temporarily blocked but has subsequently been reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to any road users with camera footage (including dashcam) who travelled on the R208 in the Drumcong area between 8pm on Thursday and 8:40am yesterday to contact them.
