Some wannabe robbers dug a massive tunnel in Co Kildare to try and rob from an ATM – but ended up unsuccessful.
The Ocean’s Eleven-style heist was uncovered earlier this week on the Sallins Road in Naas when the cash machine was being removed to be replaced.
The tunnel, believed to be as long as 80ft, was uncovered along with tools that are believed to have been used by the wannabe bank robbers.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardaí are investigating an attempted burglary that occurred at a business premises on the Sallins Road in Naas, Co. Kildare.
The exact date of the incident is not known at this time.
The scene has been technically and forensically examined.
