Dublin Housing Crisis Receives Boost As 2,906 New Homes Approved Across Multiple Locations

In a significant development aimed at alleviating Dublin’s ongoing housing crisis, the Approved Housing Body (AHB) Respond has received approval to construct 2,906 homes in various strategic locations. Charlestown and Tallaght will witness the construction of 1,000 homes, with 590 in Charlestown, 502 in Tallaght, 318 in Clonburris, and 397 in Donaghmede.

A key aspect of this ambitious project is the dedication of 1,378 houses for cost-rental purposes, emphasizing affordability in the city’s housing market. The remaining homes will be designated for social housing, addressing the diverse needs of the community.

Construction has already commenced on 1,508 houses, and the entire project is slated for completion by September 2024. The initiative is poised to significantly impact Dublin’s housing landscape, offering a substantial solution to the persisting housing challenges. As the city grapples with the demand for affordable and social housing, this multi-location endeavor stands as a beacon of hope for residents in need.
