Man arrested after Revenue seizes 30 kg cannabis at Shannon Airport

A man in his 20s has been arrested after Revenue Customs Officers seized 30kg of cannabis worth an estimated €600,000 at Shannon Airport on Wednesday. The discovery was made during a routine operation by customs officials.

The man was arrested by gardaí and is being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda station in the Clare-Tipperary Division. The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis, and investigations are ongoing.
