19 year old Tanya Watson become the first Irish female diver to qualify for the Olympics

At just 19 years of age, she becomes the first Irish female diver to qualify for the Olympic games, following her success at the FINA Diving World Cup in Tokyo.Tanya was 16th in the preliminary round of the Women’s 10m Platform with 271.85 points at the FINA Diving World Cup 2021 and moves into the semi-finals tomorrow morning.

Ireland’s Ciara McGing just missed out on automatic qualification finishing 23rd with 240.95, and now must wait until ranking closes in Mid May.Yesterday Clare Cryan also missed the elusive Olympic spot in the Women’s 3m Springboard when she was 31st in the Prelims with 242.90
