Ebenezer Mar Thoma Church Dublin South to celebrate first holy communion on October 18

The newly established Ebenezer Mar Thoma Church Dublin South will celebrate its first Holy Communion on Saturday, October 18, at 9:30am at the Nazarene Community Church in Greystones, Wicklow.

The church has been elevated to become the second Mar Thoma congregation in Ireland, marking a significant milestone for the Mar Thoma community in the country.

Parish priest Rev. Stanley Matthew John will lead the Holy Communion service. The church committee has extended a cordial invitation to all members and well-wishers to attend the historic first service.

The establishment of a second Mar Thoma church in Ireland reflects the growing presence of the Mar Thoma Syrian Christian community, which traces its origins to Kerala. The Mar Thoma Church is one of the oldest Christian denominations in India, with roots dating back to the apostolic mission of Saint Thomas.

The location of the new congregation in the Dublin South area, meeting at the Nazarene Community Church in Greystones, provides a worship space for Mar Thoma faithful living in Wicklow and surrounding counties.

The first Holy Communion service represents an important moment for the community as it formally begins its spiritual activities as an independent parish. Such occasions typically bring together families and community members in celebration of their shared faith and heritage.

For more information about the service or the new church, interested parties can contact the parish committee.
