Dubliners heading to the polls this Friday for the General Election can take advantage of free bike rides to their polling stations, courtesy of DublinBikes.
The bike-sharing scheme is offering complimentary one-day tickets on November 29 to encourage voter participation across the city. This initiative aims to remove barriers to voting while promoting sustainable travel.
From midnight to 11:59 PM on polling day, users can access a one-day ticket for free, saving €3.50.
DublinBikes hopes that this initiative will support voters in getting to polling stations conveniently and efficiently. The scheme, which launched in 2009, has already facilitated around 38 million journeys and continues to play a vital role in Dublin’s public transport landscape.
To redeem the free ticket, users need to visit the DublinBikes website or use the official RedClick DublinBikes app. By selecting the ‘Promotions’ subscription option, users can choose the ‘Free RedClick: Pedal to the Polls’ offer.
New users of the DublinBikes system will be required to register before availing of the promotion.
